TEAC CD Z5000 CD Player
The Story
This Player is one of the few good old CD players with two TDA1541A DAC chips in it.
Each channel has one TDA1541A chip with two r2r DAC’s, they are connected parallel together to linearize the DAC transfer of the music signal.
The bad thing is after the DAC’s are old opamps M5238L amplifying the signal.
So this is a modification project for later and then we will see if out of a good player
gets an excellent player.
LTspice Tube Amplifier Simulation
New Version 2.8
Now incl. Tube-Model Creation-Software “Curve Captor”
The Story
I wrote this document mainly for myself, because I’m an amateur user of the
nice LTspice software. In the past I always fail with the transformer simulation
and was not sure how good the tube models are, which I found on the web.
I assume the readers are familiar with LTspice. This manual is a supplement
on how simulate tube amplifiers with LTspice.
Only amplifiers calculated after the physical laws, well soldered,
professional analysed and at the end tested with the human ears,
so you get an audiophile tube amplifier.

µTracer for Tube Curves
The Story
The µTracer Kit is an excellent tube curve tracer, because it measures with pulses
and not the old fashion way to kill the tubes with too high continous
voltage/current. With the PC software you can calibrate the hard ware
save/print out the curves.
Also it’s possible to get the curves as numeric files to create with supplementary
software tube models for LTspice. This tube models are out of the tube
you are holding in your hand and not created out of “very nice painted” curves
from the tube manufacturers.
I add also an additional fillament power supply, made out of one more PC power supply,
adjustable step down regulator and digital voltmeter.

HV Statistical Regulator
The Story
At the ETF 2017 in Denmark, Morgan Jones held a speech about “Amplifiers
for high efficiency loudspeakers”.
One part of the presentation was about the “Statistical Regulator” as an
excellent quiet and low noise regulator (see also in his book
“Valve Amplifiers – Fourth Edition” on pages 399 – 405, 418 – 419).
So my first “Statistical Regulator” is now on the bench for testing.
